Hurricane Harvey may be over, but the trauma is still present as Texas tries to recover. Here are just a few of our heroes who rose up during this devastating time. They went above in beyond in not only assisting in the safety of humans during the rescue process, but also included animals in distress in their mission. And while the storm may have passed, there is a long road to recovery for many families as well as these animals. Many of these animals were abandoned and will be needing new homes. Shelters across the country are already beginning to overflow from the intake of animal victims of Harvey.
