Fall is Canine Flu Fighting Season

It’s flu season—for both humans and canines across the country. Be on the lookout for these symptoms in your canine companion!

Milder symptoms include:

  • Persistent Cough
  • Sneezing
  • Nasal Discharge
  • Eye discharge
  • Fever (Above 104°F)

Severe cases of canine flu can cause your dog to develop pneumonia, loss of appetite, and even cause bleeding in the tiny air sacs of the lungs—causing your pup to cough up blood.

Since the canine flu is a new disease (only first being reported in 2003) affecting the dog population. Since the dog population has not developed any immunity or resistance to this new and highly contagious virus, we highly recommend seeking the help of your veterinarian upon noticing any of these symptoms in your pup.

In order to make the dog flu vaccine more accessible to all pet parents, we’re giving $5 off each Canine Influenza vaccine given during the month of September!  We will also take $5 off your pup’s physical exam fee.

Dogs initially need a series of 2 vaccines within a 2-4 week period.  After this, they will need to be revaccinated each year to stay protected.
