Chagas disease is believed to infect more than 300,000 people in the United States, and nearly 8 million people across Mexico and Central and South America. But Chagas is not just a human disease; recent research has shown that dogs across the state of Texas are becoming infected with the parasite that causes Chagas. So just what kind of threat does Chagas disease pose to humans and their pets?
